SID 50 YEARS - THE COLORS OF SPEED

SID is more than a workshop; it is an art studio that defined the aesthetics of Brazilian motorsport. For a Latin designer raised under the influence of icons like Senna and Fangio, this project represented the fulfillment of a personal dream and a high-responsibility challenge: celebrating 50 years of history through a tribute worthy of the brand's legacy.

The challenge was to represent complex and vibrant paintwork in black and white sketches, inspired by the drawings SID made before transferring the art to the helmets. The pieces function as a technical sheet, including model, category, and year information, representing the precision of shapes, volumes, and materials of each iconic helmet using only digital strokes that simulate pencil texture. Another critical point was the manual calligraphy in gold ink on fine art paper, where there was no margin for error. These 50 unique artworks were produced exclusively for the honored drivers or their families; the project sought to return a fragment of SID's history to those who built it on the tracks.

The execution sought to elevate the concept of an original sketch to a gallery-grade piece. The illustrations were printed with a Fine Art specialist, using Hahnemühle Photo Matt Fibre 200g/m2 paper and mineral pigments, ensuring the absolute fidelity of the digital strokes. To contrast with the black and white drawing, the calligraphy was applied manually in a gestural brush style. The use of gold ink was a deliberate choice to represent victory and refinement, providing a focal point of color that evokes the podium.

The care for the project extended to the final assembly and delivery stage. The designer personally oversaw the process in São Paulo to manage the framing of each piece and ensure the presentation was flawless. This process allowed not only for final quality control but also for the opportunity to hand-deliver the works to the SID team and the honored drivers. The strategy transformed the tribute into a complete experience, where the excellence of the materials and the artisanal gesture of the calligraphy reinforced the historical value of the brand's 50th anniversary.
